This is where it started. A face, a chain, and the beginning of a style that felt like mine for the first time.

It started with a sketch. I had just discovered the illustration style of Deijxn and something clicked. I drew the face, the head formed naturally, and before I knew it a chain grew out of it. Chains are something I've always been drawn to, I wear one every day. It just made sense.
The first attempt was a mess. I tried to build the 3D effect directly in After Effects with layer styles and it looked cheap. Nothing I was proud of. So I stopped, stepped back and made a decision: good art takes time. I opened Blender for the first time, built the chrome chain from scratch and suddenly everything had volume, depth and weight. After a lot of iterations and a lot of Photoshop it came together.
For the first time I looked at something I made and thought: this feels like a real art piece. That feeling is what the Mean side is built on.
