Every designer reaches a point where the next brief has to be their own name. This project started there, and took a lot longer than expected.
What began as a brand announcement video grew into something more personal: a 3-4 month passion project built across multiple sessions, full of exploration, dead ends, and moments where something finally clicked. It's the project I've learned the most from, technically, creatively, and honestly, as a person.
The final result isn't a clean brand reveal. It's a statement. A feeling. An introduction to what Hammoumi actually is.

DESIGN
PROCESS
The logo animation was the starting point, and the hardest part. Five different attempts before finding the right approach. The solution came from Blender: building the logo as a 3D mesh, letting it assemble from geometry and light rather than just appearing on screen. From a single point of light to the chain, to the shapes, to the full wordmark, each frame earned.
Once the logo animation was in place, the brand announcement video came next. The original vision was split in two: a motion branding part that presented the full identity system (logo, typography, colors, business card, website mockup), and a vibe part that translated the Hammoumi aesthetic into raw visual energy.
A conversation with Jonas Devacht changed the direction. He pointed out that the mystery, the vibe, was what actually triggered something. The brand showcase felt explanatory. The vibe felt like Hammoumi. So the decision was made: lead with the feeling, save the branding assets for a LinkedIn rollout over time. The final video became the vibe only.
Everything was built solo, concept, storyboard, 3D, animation, compositing. Sound by Leander Leenders (Audio Saus).

SHOTS THAT DIDN'T MAKE THE CUT
Not every scene survived the edit, and some of the strongest visuals ended up on the cutting room floor. The motion branding sequences (typography, color palette, tagline, business card, website mockup) were originally central to the video but moved to a separate content strategy for social. A few vibe shots were pulled for further refinement. None of it is wasted, it's all becoming part of how Hammoumi shows up over time.

Now that all preparations have been made, we can start with the animation.
BEHIND THE SHOTS
Six scenes. Each one a different technique, a different rabbit hole. The logo animation alone went through five attempts before the geometry clicked into place. The fire, the particles, the grills, the falling figure, the red silhouette — every shot was its own exploration. Some took hours, some took days. All of them pushed into territory that was new.
This is how it came together.
